Rainy Saturday morning

Weather was so bad this morning that there were no other options than to stay inside.

So I used this opportunity and made one illustration.

New haircut

So now I finally got the longed-for bangs. What do you think?

Vagabond

I visited Vagabond sample sale today. All summer shoes were too big for me but I found a few beautiful pairs for next autumn. Yes, I should not have bought so many, but on the other hand I saved 250€ compared to what these would have cost at store, so it´s ok, right?

I also went to Helsinki Fashion Summit 2012 at Bio Rex to see a fashion show and hear Henrik Vibskov and Lulu Kennedy speaking about their work. It would have been interesting to hear head designer for Acne men´s line Christoffer Lundman speaking too, but this time cheap shoes were even more tempting. 

Tomorrow I am heading to friend´s summer house by the lake so you will not be herring from me before next week. Have a nice weekend!

You must all think that I have only a few pair of shoes because I am always wearing the same heels but that is quite far from the truth. It´s just that I have these in work and I usually change to more warm and comfortable ones after work..but now that summer is finally here, I will be able to walk in heels after work as well. Yippee!!

Neutral with neon yellow

Yes! It almost feels like summer here in Helsinki. I took my new heels out for the first time today and oh boy it feels good to be able to wear sandals even if these did not turn to to be my most comfortable heels. 

It looks like Lenni would love to have shades as well.! ;)

Cut the sleeves

Please do not mind the horrific looking person inside the poor clothes. It looks like I have seen a ghost or something else that has frozen me up. Anyway, wanted to show you how the vintage Beavers jacket or nowadays vest looks on. I combined it with the shirt from which I have cut the sleeves off as well. A pair of simple black leggings and boots. Simple, but works when in hurry. Thank good it is Friday tomorrow!

1st of May relaxed picnic outfit

I wore today: DIY trashed Levis jacket, Cos t-shirt, H&M flower pants and sunnies, Converse sneakers and self made mustache necklace. So nothing new that you haven´t seen already but it has been such a beautiful day that I was in a mood of making outfit post. For once there were sun and someone to who could take the pictures. Happy 1st of May everybody! (And in case someone was wondering about the hat, it is a graduation hat that everyone wears in Finland for 1st of May celebration.)

Mustache fellows

Here are finally the other necklaces from recycled leather that I promised to show you when they were ready. Last weekend I finally remembered this unfinished project at flea market and purchased these chains with few pennies and now I have two humorous mustache necklaces in my closet.

DIY trashed denim jackets

So my home was filled with denim dust last weekend like I promised. I also visited Vallilan makasiinit once again and among other finds was this Beavers denim jacket with 4€. I showed some scissors for it and this is the result.

What do you think?

I also trashed the Levis jacket that I showed you earlier but now that I look at the result I think it is necessary to do some more holes on it. It does not look trashed enough, don´t you think?

Flower power

Illustrations

 It has been such a long time since I have made any fashion illustrations but today I felt like it was time to take a pen and draw something. And it felt really good! This will be my new way of spending sundays!

Vintage Levis jackets

Lately when visiting flea markets my mission has been finding a perfect vintage Levis jacket. It had to be worn and quite light wash so I could tear it and make it look like below (picture borrowed from streetfsn.com). Well the first ones that I found did not meet those expectations but I liked them the way they are so I got them anyway.

But yesterday I finally found this perfect one with 5€. So next weekend my home will be filled with denim dust again.

Stockmann department store chain in Finland has this Hullut Päivät = Crazy Days event twice a year. The most interesting part of this event for me is the samples they are selling. I usually like more the unusual things so I love to search for something special from samples. This year I definitely found something special. Maybe I feel more like lady Gaga than cinderella when wearing these Ted Baker heels but they will definitely make my day anyway. 

To counteract those wild ones I purchased these classic beauties that will go with any outfit.
