Design by katri/n -competition

Yesterday I visited at katri/n boutique (Pursimiehenkatu 21, Helsinki). During Helsinki Design Week it is possible for everyone to go and try on outfits from her new collection and be pictured (open Tue - Fri 12:00-18:00, Sat 12:00-16:00). Some of those pictures taken there will be published at Design by katri/n facebook page where people can vote for their favorite outfit. Winner gets the outfit, a hairstyle (by Manuela Nordman) and a professional studio photo shoot (by Ville Paul Paasimaa). Here is some pictures from my visit.

Please do not hesitate to go there just because atmosphere in small boutiques can be a little intimidating sometimes. My experience was nothing like that, Katri and her team were all really nice and made me fell really welcome there. The whole experience was really fun even though my poses were nothing but innovative because I never feel comfortable on that side of the camera. The most difficult part was choosing from all those gorgeous garments what to wear. I ended up with 3 different outfits, because I could´t choose just one. I will publish those outfit photos here when I get them.

For those who don´t know who Katri Niskanen, designer behind the label, she is the winner of the first Finnish Project Runway competition in 2009 and she really deserves that title. Her style is really recognizable from creative drapings. I wish I could be so lucky to win that outfit, hairstyling and photoshoot!
